Red Sox Fever....

In 41 days on February 14th,  Boston Red Sox pitchers and catchers will report to Ft. Meyers FL. for spring training.  Position players will report shortly after that on February 18th.  I'm already planning my Opening Day menu to be served on April 1st. when  according to the official Major League Baseball site the Boston Red Sox will play the Rangers in Texas.

We will start out our game day meal with steamed Fenway franks topped with diced yellow onion and spicy brown Gulden's mustard, sweet potatoes fries with chipotle aioli dipping sauce, good old Boston baked beans, and then to round off the meal, homemade chocolate chip cookies stuffed with vanilla bean ice cream.  The anticipation to start the season is strong.......... GO SOX!!!!

  2. Oh how I love a baseball family. Nothing better. I grew up in one myself. We were born to be St. Louis Cardinal fans in the wound. My dad’s brothers go to Florida during spring training if they can and there is always a family trip to either Cincinnati or Pittsburgh to see the Cards play. Love it. I work with a lot of New Englanders and our offices are in Philly --so you can imagine the trash talk I put up with in those areas :)LOL

  14. How fun! Love what's on your menu. Wish I could come. We are Cleveland Indians fans first, Detroit Tigers second. (Please don't tell our Michigan families they are 2nd) We would be happy to adopt the Sox for our 3rd place slot. Would that be okay? :)

  15. It sounds like a fun meal and a great way to celebrate the beginning of baseball's spring season! Of course I'd substitute a potato knish for the sweet potatoes, and corn on the cob for the beans, and my decorations would be Yankee pinstripes :)

  22. Wow, that sounds like fun. I am a Sox fan of course but my true love is football. I am a Patsaholic!

I love theme parties. It's so much easier to decorate and plan food.
