Chrysanthemum is the buzz word in September for sure. No matter where you go there are mounds of magnificent mums.
Some farms display their mums in varying degrees of the same color. I'll take one of each please.
Other farms plop the pots down where ever there is space on the ground. To me it doesn't matter where the farmers place them or how perfectly color coordinated the rows are. They are a spectacular way to welcome us into fall.
This is the color I chose this year. Do you have a favorite chrysanthemum
color that you prefer?
Wow! Those are beautiful. We don't have farms that grow flowers like that. The only place you can get them are Lowe's or Wal Mart. Will tweet.
ReplyDeleteI'm fascinated by these flowers, they just seem to bloom and bloom with no care at all. They weren't a tradition in Los Angeles, so it was a surprise to see them on everybody's doorstep when we arrived here last fall. I've gotten into the act and bought a big pot of yellowy/orange mums for my porch. I haven't watered them once...in Los Angeles they'd be dead in a day or so!
ReplyDeleteYour photos make me want to go out and buy more colors...
WOW! They are all soo beautiful. I have two MUMS bushes growing now from last year almost ready to bloom! I will be getting more this week ! Fantastic photos. Have a great day !
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love white chrysanthemums snuggled up next to dark purple asters! I also love love love to see the big oversized mum mounds in the half peck baskets! perfect for a porch step or sitting on a wheelbarrow out in the lawn!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh Fall! Thanks for these gorgeous photos, Susan!
Those are gorgeous. Its hard to pick a favorite color but I think I like the dark red/burgundy ones the best for fall.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL! I love the russet coloured ones ~ sort of bronze coloured! Love those mums!
ReplyDeleteSeeing all those huge splashes of colour would make it very difficult to choose. I would probably plump for the burgundy ones, although I do have a fondness for the bronze, I love the simplicity of white too. Decisions, decisions... I bet the smell was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love any flower in shades of lavender.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Lorilee
Breathtaking!

ReplyDeleteHow beautiful!! I'm going to buy a yellow mum to set beside the old, cracked red shutter I found. I want it to look like a midwestern farm! These are really magnificent pictures.

WOW! Gorgeous rainbow colors and such healthy looking mums. I have to buy some soon fir my front porch.
ReplyDeleteAin't it the truth?! I saw some gorgeous mums yesterday and I really wanted to buy one monster I saw but they just don't last long in Florida. The Garden Club is coming the last week of October. By that time, there won't be a mum in sight down here. I've been debating if I could baby one along inside until then.
ReplyDeleteMaginificent! thank you for the inspiration... yellow is what i most often choose...but i love all the mums!
ReplyDelete-xok.

ReplyDeleteI love the red.
These pictures look beautiful!! gloria
ReplyDeleteWe have a neighbor that goes around each fall and puts a pot of Chrysanthemum by the mail boxes of all the house on her road and the three that come off. Wonderful to walk around and see all the different colors.
