For the life of me I can't understand why my husband didn't purchase this ocean front fixer upper for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Come on, aren't I worth it. What's a few million dollars between two people who have shared half a life time together.
Please gaze out over the jagged rocks for just a moment and take a look at this gorgeous view. Now close your eyes, take a deep breath, relax and let the cool ocean breeze blow all your troubles away.
The quaint seacoast town of Rye located in neighboring New Hampshire is where I would land if I could. Less than a hour away and you are transported into that elevated state of mind that only living near the ocean can provide.
Never again would there be a need to buy a gift or bring home a bouquet of flowers. The gift itself would be the spectacular view of the sea.
I've also come to the conclusion that I need to dream about something. Dreaming is fun and it keeps my mind occupied while my children are preparing ever so slowly to leave the nest. Now friends, wouldn't you agree that my dream of having a chicken coop would have been a whole lot cheaper.

PS I like to dream too... it keeps the imagination alive ;)
Did you explain the Chicken Coop is Cheaper point to your dear husband? It might be a good selling point! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is a truly stunning house! How I pine to live in a house like that... With plenty of land for those chickens!
That is so great, show him this post, I laughed and laughed. I would say that of course, you need a chicken coop.
ReplyDeleteHmm, ocean front mansion vs. chicken coop . . . does that man have rocks in his head!!! Just kidding Steve!!! Being one of your oldest and dearest friends I of course believe with every ounce of my being that you deserve the ocean front mansion . . . but I know you'd be happier than a pig in chicken sh*t if you had your own coop! Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeletexoxo!

I always dream big and one of those dreams is a holiday house overlooking the sea - this one is a beauty. Good luck getting your shed converted for chickens - your husband sounds like mine - a little precious about his shed. Keep dreaming. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, what a house!... Looks to me like a coop would fit in the backyard, too ~
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning house and a stunning location! You'll need superpowers of persuasion for that little project. I think you should practise with the chicken coop first!
ReplyDeletexxx
Hehe... yes! It would have been cheaper but in that grand house you'd have plenty of room to have chickens, too! You could have both! A few million dollars indeed. I nearly fell for it. As I read your post I was thinking, "Oh my gosh, is that your house?" ;) Duh.
ReplyDeleteWell, if we ever come visit you in New England, I'm sure buying us that house would be no problem for you, right? After all, what's a few million between blogging friends? :D
Good luck with the chicken coop, what a house.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous house in a stunning location! I'm dreaming of my cottage by the sea right now! :0)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the coop! I need to go visit some live chickens to see it I can do it! No idea where to find them in Philly though:@) Of course the ocean house is nice too...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous house! There is always playing the lottery to keep that dream alive!
ReplyDeleteOh how beautiful! You keep dreaming lovey! It's good for the soul!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely story and a great setting. Very important for us keep those dreams alive. Good luck with the chicken coop dream.

What a gorgeous dream :)
ReplyDeleteI've just had a brilliant idea and a compromise. Have that handsome hubby of your build you a chicken coop that looks like the ocean front mansion!
ReplyDeleteI am on my way to look up Rye. Must be near Portsmouth? Sure would love to see the kitchen in that house, and there must be a sizeable pantry too. Would that do for a coop??

Congratulations on your 25th wedding anniversary :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your dreams with us, I actually tried the"close you eyes and breath in the ocean air" & it's a good trick ;)
That really is a beautiful house, you are so lucky to be a 1 hour drive away, I would love to just drive by but I live on the other side of the pond. Hope you get your chicken coop.
Lily
Oh, that place is stunning. Its fun to dream. There are several big Victorian homes in my town but there is one that I have loved my whole life. I always said if I won the lottery I would knock on the door and ask them to name their price. It went on the market a few weeks ago, but sadly the lottery isn't interested in my dream!
ReplyDeleteoh...there's my julie :-)
ReplyDeletei have to go look up Rye too...
love the house...but we need a chicken coop too...... 'round the back...????

The chicken coop might be cheaper, but that fixer-upper is really nice. And, the view is to die for. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous home and yes the coop would be cheaper!! Dream on!
ReplyDeleteNow you've gone and done it---I'll be dreaming about that house for months!
ReplyDeleteWell I agree you need to dream. I have dreamed of a move to Austria/Germany for my whole life. My dreams are about to come true. So never say never. It all starts with the seed of an idea.
ReplyDeleteThat house is stunning (or it would be if you got your hands on it)
LOL!! That tickled me down to my toes. I am off to see the sea in about a week and I can't wait. You are right, just looking at the ocean is a gift all by itself. Kit
ReplyDeleteGirl you dream big! Rye, NH is one of the most expensive plots of real estate you can come by. Would you really fit in? Rye is a bit on the snooty side. Well, not just a bit. It is a very beautiful place. I think you deserve a lovely gift.
ReplyDeleteOne must conceptualizer to actualize. This looks amazing.

A beautiful dream~~~~a girl has to dream. We could all come over. Pretty views. TFS your dream with us, normally you just have to describe!
ReplyDeleteOh I love Rye and the homes by the ocean front.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet dream and I hope it happens for you!
Happy Anniversary, wow 25 years, good for you.
Yep dreaming is a good thing to do and YES he should have bought that house for you! ;-)

Looks like the perfect setting for a great novel! Love the view!
ReplyDeleteMaybe but not so exciting and look what we have achieved by following our dreams after the chicks fled the nest :)
ReplyDeletestopping back by to feast my eyes again
ReplyDeletehappy sunday

I admit I do love my home in the country, however, when I smell the ocean air or see the ragosa roses along the rocky shore I am transported right back in time to my childhood island home. There is nothing that compares to living on the ocean. I do hope you get the opportunity to become a "chicken momma." Maybe if you start small with just a few chickens, it certainly would be alot cheaper than that beautiful fix-er-upper! Good luck, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, sometimes you just have to do it!
ReplyDeleteI'd live there in a heartbeat! Dreams are what life is made of :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to live in that house but not to have to clean it..lol! At first I thought it looked like Maine shore but I know New Hampshire's coast is also pretty! One of my favorite trips was to Portsmouth, NH and around Franconia Notch (we saw the man in the Mountain before he sadly fell apart)and up Mount Washington :)
ReplyDeleteMy nest is really empty now that my daughter and her fiance moved west to joing my son and his family in Colorado. I dream about following them someday!
PS Happy 25 Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHi there,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful home! You definitely are worth it, girl! :) That is a beautiful home and I can see why you love it! Have a happy day, xoxo Kim
