Frosting Fiasco....

Ok,  just so you know I will be looking to take a basic cake decorating class in the near future.  Frosting cookies is obviously not my forte.  But believe me when I tell you that these cookies are delicious. They rise beautifully and are tender and light.

Sugar Cookies
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Bake about 8 to 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  •  1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract.  I use half vanilla and half almond.
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 cups flour
Cream butter and sugar well.  Add eggs and beat until fluffy and light.  Add extract( vanilla or almond) and dry ingredients.  Refrigerate for 30 minutes.  Roll as thin or as thick as you like.  Cool and decorate.

  1. I think they are beautiful, my sugar cookies would have been blobs and those snowflakes they would have been round because the little arms would have stayed on the cookie sheet. I think they are beautiful.

Sugar cookies are the first cookies I ever baked when I was about 12 years old. They tasted delightful but looked frightful. Sweet memories :)

    I hope your Christmas joyful..

  14. They are gorgeous... like lacy ice falling from the sky. We can't get such a lovely ice-blue sprinkle or tiny white balls like that. Expect me around 4 o'clock this afternoon ... I take my tea with a drop of milk. :)
