Pumpkins on Parade

Traveling around New England you see farm after farm selling mountains upon mountains of pumpkins.  All of them unique yet all of them beckoning you to stop in for a closer look.
There are  crates of pumpkins still dusty from the field

Vintage buckboard wagons piled high with the day's harvest.

Around New England in autumn , orange is the new pink!
Unless of course its white.

Baskets brimming with pumpkins waiting to decorate the mantle, front porch, back steps or even baked into a delicious dessert.

Where ever you live , whatever farm road you travel down, or neighborhood you pass through on your way home from work.
Make sure you stop in for a closer look and treat yourself to a pumpkin.  Its always best to buy local. Happy Fall !!!!

  3. Oh wow, I love these photos. You never get anything like that here in England. Happens in supermarkets & some farm shops but they are scattered around the county. I also love your dog, Bella. What a beauty :)
Thanks for sharing these photos, they are awesome.

  11. I used to love seeing the pumpkin farms when I used to drive around NJ and also the displays on people's apartment steps (stoops??) in NYC when I worked there. Although I'm in Scotland, I now buy a few pumpkins and 'mums' and try to bring a bit of that whole Fall thing here. Lovely post. Did you make your pumpkin fudge? Are you going to share the recipe??!!

  12. First, I would like to offer a proper "thank you" for stopping by my blog and taking the time to offer a comment. When I see a big old orange pumpkin it just put's a smile on my face. Oh, BTW love the white pumpkins you discovered. Enjoyed reading the facts you offered on apples and your pie looked DELISH! I have added your blog to my side bar and I will be back! Autumn greetings, Julie of Dog Trot Farm.
